Acceleration of the restructuring processes, technical and technological renovation of the production capacities of the republic's enterprises in JanuarySeptember 2017 ensured the growth of industrial production by 5.6%, labor productivity by 3.9% against the same period last year. The volume of industrial production amounted to more than 99 trillion. sum.

In the structure of industrial production, the largest share belongs to manufacturing enterprises - 79.0 percent. At the same time, the mining industry and quarrying enterprises made an appropriate contribution to the growth of industrial production (the growth rate by 9 months of 2016-108.4%, the share in the total production volume-11.7%).

 

 

 

A significant contribution to the growth of industrial output was made by enterprises producing, repairing, installing machinery and equipment, producing motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and other finished metal products, the share of which in the total volume of the republic exceeded 12%, the growth rate by 9 months of 2016 was 139 , 2%.

The high growth of production by the same period of the previous year is marked by such activities as: printing and reproduction of recorded materials (growth rate of 134.8% by January-September 2016), production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations (117.3%), production of coal, lignite, oil and natural gas (112.3%), production of other non-metallic mineral products (108.0%).

Implementation of measures to improve industrial potential of the territories contributed to increased production products in the regions of the republic.

In the structure of output of industrial products The largest share in the republic is in the enterprises of Tashkent (19.2% of the total volume), Tashkent (14.9 percent), Navoi (9.4 percent), Andizhan (9.2 percent), Kashkadarya (7.8 percent) regions.

Significant contribution to the total volume of industry was made by small business entities, specific weight produced by them was 41.2%.

Expansion of the assortment and promotion of output finished products reflected in increased production consumer goods compared to January-September 2016 (105.0 percent), the share of which in the industrial sector amounted to 41.5 percent compared to 39.8 percent in the same period in 2016.

Analysis of the differentiation of industrial production per capita shows a significant excess of the average republican index (3,065.4 thousand sums) in Navoi region, Tashkent city, Tashkent region.

The development of the industrial potential of the republic was significantly influenced by local enterprises (excluding enterprises with a predominant share of the state), whose output amounted to 52.8 trillion sums (53.3 percent of the volume of industry), the growth rate to the same period last year - 103.9 percent.

In the volume of output of these enterprises, the greatest share in the republic is accounted for by enterprises in Tashkent, Tashkent, and Samarkand regions. The highest growth rates were achieved in Tashkent (110.0 percent), Andizhan (107.6 percent), Fergana (106.6 percent).

At present, there are more than 48 thousand industrial enterprises in the republic, including 8.3 thousand enterprises newly established in January-September 2017, of which: in Tashkent 2,1 thousand enterprises, in Fergana province 926 enterprises, in Tashkent 831 enterprises, Samarkand 753 enterprises, more than 600 enterprises in Namangan and Andijan regions, more than 300 enterprises in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Khorezm regions, more than 200 enterprises in Navoi region and more than 150 enterprises yaty in Syrdarya region.

In January-September 2017 according to the preliminary data the volume of gross domestic product (GDP) of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to170 074,8 billion soums at current prices. In comparison with January-September 2016 its growth rate was 105,3 percent.

Growth rates of GDP by kinds of economic activities in January-September are characterized by the following data (as percent of corresponding period of previous year):

The main factors of GDP growth were the growth rates of the main sectors of the economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fishing – 103,5 percent (the share in GDP structure – 16,9 percent), industry – 104,1 percent (25,0 percent), construction – 105,3 percent (7,4 percent), trade and accommodation and food service activity – 106,5 percent (11,6 percent), transportation and storage, information and communication – 107,3 percent (13,1 percent), and other service activities – 106,0 percent (26,0 percent).

Branch structure of GDP in January-September is characterized by the following data (as percent of total):

In January-September 2017 the share of services in the GDP structure was 50,7 percent or 0,6 percentage points lower than in January-September 2016 (51,3 percent). The share of transportation and storage, information and communication decreased by 0,6 percentage points and was 13,1 percent in the reporting period. The share of trade, accommodation and food service activities increased by 0,5 percentage points and was 11,6 percent and that of other service activities decreased from 26,5 percent in January-September 2016 to 26,0 percent in January-September 2017.

In the GDP structure by form of ownership the share of the non-state sector is 80,3 percent and that of the state sector – 19,7 percent.

One of the key factors of wealth and wellbeing levels of the population is the existence of permanent source of income.

For the past 9 month of current year, total amount of gross income reached 129,5 trillion soums, in turn, it is 19.8 per cent higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year.

8.3 per cent change in consumer prices in the current period influenced on the purchasing power of the aggregate income of the population. Therefore, in real terms, in comparison with the same period of the previous year growth rate of aggregate income of population was 110,6 per cent.

In 9 month of 2017 average per capita aggregate income amounted to 4 million soums.

In comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, nominal  growth rate of per capita aggregate income of the population in was 117,8 per cent.

In comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, real growth of per capita aggregate income of the population was 108,8 per cent.

Significantly higher indicator of per capita aggregate income growth was in Khorezm region. In Andijan, Surkhandarya, Namangan regions and the Republic of Karakaplakstan amount of average aggregate income is higher than the average per capita aggregate income level in the Republic.

Occurred changes in incomes from work (income from wages and self-employment) enabled the significant growth in total volume of aggregate income population by making up 70,2 per cent of total income and 23,4 per cent of income from transfers.

 

Employment income

Employment income has a significant share in the structure of aggregate income of population. Share of these incomes makes up more than 70 per cent in the structure of aggregate income of population. In comparison with the corresponding period of previous year, in 9 month of current year growth rate of employment income was 114 per cent.

In turn, employment income composed of incomes from wages and self-employment.

In January-September period of 2017, incomes from wages grew by 13,9 per cent and made up 33,6 per cent of employment income.

The largest growth rate of employee income was 116,4 per cent in Tashkent, 116,1 per cent in Andijan, Jizzakh, Khorezm regions and 114,6 percent in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Furthermore, another main source of income from work is the income from self-employment of the population. Mainly individual entrepreneurship of the population in different sectors of economy belongs to this sphere.

In 9 month of 2017, population received 47,5 trillion soums from self-employment. This source of income had a significant share in total volume of aggregate income of population and made up 36,6 per cent.

In terms of share, income from self employment had a very significant effect on aggregate income of population. If the amount of income from self employment increase by 1 per cent, total amount of aggregate income grows by 0,38 per cent.

In comparison with the corresponding period of previous year, growth rate of income from self-employment in 9 month of the current year was 114,1 per cent.

Share of income from self-employment differs and varies from 23 (in Tashkent city) to 48 (in Tashkent region) per cent. A third (34,4 per cent) of gained income from self-employment belongs to the share of Tashkent city (10,6 per cent), Tashkent (13,7 per cent) and Samarkand (10,0 per cent) regions.

Growth rate of income from self-employment by regions varies from 107,2 per cent (Tashkent city) to 120,5 per cent (Surkhandarya region).

Besides, one of the sources of income is an income from properties. In 9 months of 2017, population gained 5,2 trillion soums from properties. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2016, growth rate of incomes from properties was 121,2 per cent. Share of income from properties in total volume of aggregate income is 4 per cent.

Income from property, in turn, consists of interest rates, dividends, copyright honoraria and other property incomes.

In the structure of incomes from property, other incomes from property makes up the largest share - 53,2 % . Next type of property income by significance is dividends - 31,6 %., interest incomes from bonds, deposit certificates and other securities - 15,1 %, copyright honoraria - 0,1 per cent.

Influence of property incomes on total volume of aggregate income of population is insignificant. Therefore, if the increase of aggregate income of population is 19,8 per cent in the selected period of time, share of property income becomes 0,8 per cent.

In regions of Uzbekistan, practice of gaining income from property is not sufficiently developed. Two thirds of total volume of property income in 9 months of 2017 was earned in Tashkent 64,3 per cent. Regions with significant shares are Tashkent region (8,1 %) and Samarkand region (4,3 %), Fergana region (4,2 %).

 

In the structure of population income, transfers have a significant share. Growth rate of transfer income in 9 months of 2017 compared with the corresponding period of 2016 was 141,4 %. In line with that, in that period share of transfers in the total volume of aggregate income of population grew by 3.6 percentage points and was 23,4 %. Increase of social transfers was 115,8 in that period.

Mainly pensions impact on the growth of social transfers and pensions make up 84 per cent in its total volume.

Growth rate of pensions was 116,5 per cent comparing with the corresponding period of 2016.

Changes in the maturity period of pensions, welfare payments and stipends facilitated the growth in aggregate income of population in 1,9 per cent.

In January-September 2017 the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fishing was 46 194,3 billion soums or 103,5 percent to the corresponding period of 2016, of which crop and animal production, hunting and related services activities – 45 982,3 billion soums (103,5 percent), forestry – 63,4 billion soums  (101,4 percent), fishing – 148,6 billion soums (111,9 percent). The growth in the volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fishing is mainly due to a significant increase in the production of crop and livestock products, hunting and provision of services in these areas.

The highest growth rates were observed in Samarkand region (106,1 percent), Surkhandarya region (106,0 percent), Bukhara region (105,8 percent), Navoi region (105,6 percent), the lowest ones – in Andizhan region (100,8 percent) and Fergana region (101,5 percent).

 

The share of the Tashkent region in the total volume of agricultural, forestry and fishery products (services) amounted to 15.7 percent , the Samarkand and Andijan regions occupied following places with indicators of 14.0 percent and 9.5 percent respectively. The Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.2 percent), Syrdarya (3.7 percent) and Navoi (4.7 percent) regions have the lowest share.

 

 

Agricultural production
 

 

Growth in agricultural production volume in January-September 2017 as compared to the corresponding period of 2016 amounted to 103.5 percent, including crop production - 102.0 percent, animal production -105.6percent.

Analysis by categories of farms shows that 69.2 percent of the total volume of agricultural production falls on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 29.2 percent - on farms, 1.6 percent - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities.

In analyzing the distribution of the shares of the gross output of agriculture by categories of farms in the regional breakdown, it was observed that the highest indicators in all regions fall on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.

 

In January-September 2017 the volume of crop production was 27 869,7 billion soums or 102,0 percent to the corresponding period of 2016. The share of crop production in the total agricultural output was 61,5 percent.

Harvesting. In January-September of the current year, there were produced 7 380,5 thousand tons of grains (99,6 percent), 2 357,4 thousand tons of potatoes (103,9 percent), 8 695,2 thousand tons of vegetables (105,8 percent), 1 569,9 thousand  tons of melons (106,9 percent), 2 146,0 thousand tons of fruit and berries (105,3), 1 270,7 thousand tons of grapes (104,5 percent).

In January-September 2017 the volume of animal production was 17 452,4 billion soums or 105,6 percent to the corresponding period of 2016. In the total agricultural output, the share of animal production was 38,5 percent.

The increase in livestock production in farms of all categories is due to growth in meat production by 6.2 percent, milk by 6.2 percent, eggs by 8.5 percent.

As of October 1 of the current year, the total number of cattle reached 12 111.5 thousand heads, including cows - 4 370.8 thousand heads, sheep and goats - 20 330.9 thousand heads, poultry - 69 008.8 thousand heads.

In comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, in all categories of livestock farms, the number of cattle increased by 536,8 heads (by 4.6 percent), including cows - by 95.8 thousand heads (2.2 percent), sheep and goats - by 363.0 thousand heads (1.8 percent), poultry - by 5 575.9 thousand heads (by 8.8 percent).

 

 

According to the Data The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for assistance to enterprises and development of competition, in January-September 2017 privatized (including in program and out of program objects) 404 Enterprises and Objects (further objects).

In the reporting period largest number of objects privatized in Tashkent region – 82 objects (20.3 percent of the total number of privatized objects in the republic), in Surkhandarya region – 62 objects (15,3 percent), Namangan region – 44 objects (10,9 percent), Andizhan region – 29 objects (7,2 percent), Khorezm region – 28 objects (6,9 percent), Fergana region – 22 objects (5,4 percent).

In the structure of privatized state property the largest share falls on the objects of local authorities – 275 objects 68.1 percent of the total number of privatized objects in the republic), Ministry of Health – 50 objects (12,4 percent), Ministry of Public Education – 45 objects (11,1 percent), Ministry of higher and secondary specialized education – 9 objects (2,2 percent), State company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat – 7 objects (1,7 percent).
